Elizabeth was born with 96% hearing loss and has never let her disability get in the way of achieving the things she has set her mind to do. She also credits her hearing impairment with helping her to see the world in a more colorful and compassionate way. This has led her to a career in art and art education, teaching classes and camps for elementary-aged children to help them explore the world around them. She knows that kids can feel excluded because of their differences but hopes this book shows that all kids share the desire to play and belong. Elizabeth lives with her husband, Shane, in Birmingham, Alabama. Together they have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren.
